Celebrate National Pizza Month at Eli’s Brick Oven Pizza in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Eli’s Brick Oven Pizza is located in the heart of Hamden. It’s home to mouthwatering Italian dishes and of course, hot, delicious pizza.

“There’s always something for everyone on the menu at eli’s,” said general manager Ellis Reilly. “We’re shifting over to that new Italian, kind of lighter fare, so we have some different dishes. Some roasted Brussels sprouts is a new one. We have a bucatini and shrimp.”

But one of the things Eli’s does best? You guessed it … Pizza!

“I feel like it’s all about the sauce and crust,” Reilly said. “Our old fashioned pizza – phenomenal.”

From the dough to the toppings, Eli’s uses only the freshest ingredients.

“We cook it in a brick oven, so it gets a little bit of that char,” Reilly explained. “It’s a 450 degree oven, so we’re cooking real hot.”

Just one bite and you’ll be hooked.

“You have those five diff flavors in your taste buds — the umami, the sweet, the sour, the bitter, the saltiness,” Reilly said. “You really get all that in the pizza especially in the tomato sauce — absolutely delicious.”

To celebrate National Pizza Month, Eli’s is offering something extra special each week.

“This first week of October we’re doing peperoni on everything, so if you want it on your pizza, your salad, your calzone — free peperoni on everything,” Reilly explained.

For those who are on-the-go, Eli’s Brick Oven Pizza also offers a selection of prepared foods.

“Nowadays we have 600 million things to do,” Reilly said. “You just pop into the market during lunch. You’re in and out, boom you have lunch, you’re happy.”

You can pick up a variety of pasta dishes, salads, snacks and more.

“All sorts of stuff,” Reilly explained. “You just grab it right from the case, pay in two seconds and you’re out the door.”
