WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The state budget remains a hot button issue for cities and for towns across the state.
In Wallingford on Tuesday, more than 60 mayors and first selectmen came together to discuss the impact of the budget impasse.

Their message to lawmakers, “Partisanship…Democrats, Republicans, they don’t exist at this time. What we need is a bipartisan approach to a new budget for the state of Connecticut and have it signed.”
The event on Tuesday was organized by the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities.
