Cruisin’ Connecticut – ‘Noni’s Kindness Rocks’ Spreading Good Messages

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – New Haven native, Ann Ruggiero spends her retired time painting it forward.

Her granddaughter calls her Noni, so she insisted that we call he that too. She started rock painting as a hobby last year, and now that people around the U.S. have started the “kindness rock” craze… she’s back on board.

Now dubbed ‘Noni’s Kindness Rocks,’ this vibrant grandma has painted over 200 stones with positive, feel-good message on them.

Noni hasn’t always been artistic though:

This is a new thing. I always liked art, and was always interested in it.

Noni takes the rocks and plants them throughout random locations in her neighborhood, and the city of New Haven for people to enjoy.

It’s fun and it gives people a chance to stop and think, and smile. It let’s you take time out of your day to think about other people. I brought a bunch of these rocks down to hospice care the other day.

Her purpose and message is simple:

We need more peace and love actually. Just enjoy yourself, with whoever you’re with, whatever you’re doing – peace out.
