(WTNH)-International Babywearing Week is a week-long opportunity to celebrate, promote, advocate for, and focus media attention on the many benefits of babywearing. In honor of International Babywearing Week, Bean Tree Baby is offering free baby carrier fittings to try on new carriers and free baby carrier tune-ups for help with a carrier you already own on Friday and Saturday. Spots are limited, sign ups are available on our website, BeanTreeBaby.com, or by calling the store.
Choosing a carrier is a very personal choice- It’s like buying shoes or jeans, best to try on before buying! Trying on carriers with the help of a professional babywearing educator is ideal. You want to make sure it not only fits your body but is a good fit for your baby as well and that you understand how to use and adjust the carrier properly.
A baby carrier should mimic in arms carrying and should be “hands free”- If you feel like you need to use your hands or arms to give baby extra support when they are in the carrier there’s a good chance it’s not adjusted properly. If something doesn’t feel right, get some hands on help! Baby should be “snug like a hug” in the carrier and their head and face should be “visible and kissable”.
