New Haven nightlife landmark Anna Liffey’s closes doors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — One of New Haven’s night life landmarks has closed its doors. Anna Liffey’s, the Irish pub on Whitney Avenue, is locked up. There is no word as of Wednesday evening if Anna Liffey’s plans to re-open in another location.

It had been in the Whitney Avenue location since 1997.

Pub founder Patrick Mansfield opened the original Anna Liffey’s location in New York City.The second one, in New Haven, was opened shortly thereafter.

There is another location in Fairfield as well.
