OXFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– An Oxford man was arrested after firing shots into a tree following an argument with a tree service worker on Tuesday morning.
Police say troopers responded to 25 O’Neil Road for a verbal argument by the driveway between a homeowner and an employee of Lewis Tree Services. Upon arrival, the complainant left the scene and the employee of the tree service company remained working.
Within 45 minutes, police say the complainant, identified as 23-year-old Justin Andrew Leake, came back to his residence and located his pistol. He then went outside and discharged several rounds from his pistol into a tree.
Leake later confessed to “blowing off steam” by discharging his firearm because he was angry from the argument. He was arrested and charged with unlawful discharge of firearm, breach of peace, and reckless endangerment. He was held on a $1,500 bond.
The employee of Lewis Tree Service, Raymond Jiminez, was also arrested and charged with breach of peace for his role in the argument.
