Rally against gun violence held in West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A vigil and rally against gun violence was held Wednesday night in West Hartford.

Women’s March Connecticut held that event at Blue Back Square, signing, praying, and reading the names of those killed in Las Vegas.

“We’re gathering just to say that this is a time to both mourn what has taken place and to call for action,” said Jillian Gilchrest of Women’s March Connecticut. “Any time we hear about these incidents they get worse. It is incumbent on all of us to stand up and say enough is enough. There are things we can do and we want to take action now.”

In addition to West Hartford, vigils and rallies were held in Fairfield, Hartford, Newtown and Washington, D.C.
