Middletown woman arrested after allegedly leaving five dogs in hot car while in court

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — A Middletown woman was arrested after police say she left five dogs in a hot car for more than two hours.

According to police, 45-year-old Briana DeKorte was in court and left five dogs in her car. Police say the temperature outside was 91 degrees and registered 104.1 degrees inside the vehicle.

Officers say the dogs were continuously panting and appeared to be uncomfortably hot when they arrived.

DeKorte was issued a misdemeanor summons for Animal Cruelty. She was set to appear in court on Oct. 5.
