Drunk driving accident in Colebrook leaves 2-year-old in critical condition

COLEBROOK, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut State Police have arrested one person after a drunk driving accident left a 2-year-old child in critical condition in Colebrook on Thursday night.

Troopers say that one vehicle was traveling eastbound on Route 44 near the intersection of Rockhall Road  while another vehicle was traveling westbound.The vehicle traveling westbound lost control of their vehicle swerving into the eastbound lane.

The two vehicles collided sending two passengers from the vehicle traveling eastbound to Waterbury hospital. A 2-year-old passenger of that vehicle was transported by LifeStar to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center with serious injuries and remains in critical condition.

Connecticut State Troopers later arrested the operator of the vehicle traveling westbound who was later identified as, Frank Rose, for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Rose is set to appear in Torrington Superior Court on October 20th.

This accident remains under investigation.
