Man dies after being hit by train in Killingly


KILLINGLY, Conn. (WTNH)– A 33-year-old man has died after he was hit by a train in Killingly on Thursday night.

Police say at around 8:19 p.m., troopers responded to Franklin Street in the Danielson section of town to report of a train striking a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, Dustin Orr, of Danielson, was found in critical condition on the train tracks. He was taken by ambulance to William Backus Emergency Care where he died from his injuries.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact troopers at 860-779-4900 x 2021. The accident remains under investigation.
