State lawmakers meet at the Capitol. (WTNH)

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– While many people are thinking about the long holiday weekend ahead, the top tier leaders in the state legislature are back at it again attempting to find compromise state budget plan that can get enough votes next week.

A week from today; Friday October 13th is now the new deadline for passing something.

The Governor has indicated that mid October is probably the deadline for attempting to change the Medicaid formula with the feds so that the hospital tax element of both Republican and Democrats budget plans can count on the revenue it would bring to the state.

Many communities, especially the city of Hartford, are facing financial difficulties or even calamity, in Hartford’s case, by November 1st. They all apparently do not have triskaidekaphobia.
