Arrest made after police standoff in Stratford

STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A Stratford man was arrested after a standoff with police on Monday morning.

Police say at around 2 a.m., 37-year-old Daniel Nagy threatened to harm himself and then barricaded himself in his home on Hurd Avenue when officers arrived to do a wellness check.

During the standoff, police say Nagy threatened to shoot himself.

The Stratford Police Special Response Team and Negotiators responded and were able to resolve the incident by 6 a.m.

Nagy was charged with disorderly conduct. He was taken to a local hospital for observation.
