Smart tattoos may be able to help monitor your health

(WTNH)–Your next tattoo might be able to help track your health. Researchers at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology have designed new tattoo ink that changes color according to your biochemistry.

As an example, if your glucose levels increase, the green in your tattoo will darken to brown. It might also be used to track sodium levels, or acidity.

The team hopes the innovation will allow people to better monitor their health.

The study is being led by Harvard’s Ali Yetisen and Nan Jiang, and the MIT Media Lab, according to Forbes.
