NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A fresh taste on frozen food.
Zoni is taken from the first two letters of their first names, Zoe and Nilofer. Clever, right? And catchy.
Their idea was to make homemade goodness with three ingredients in 10-minutes all in one pan.

The dynamic duo launched in August and are already in eight markets around the state.
“We’re reinventing the TV dinner,” explained Zoni co-founder Zoe Lloyd. ” It’s something which is super easy which is the most important thing to most consumers, but you don’t have to feel like you’re sacrificing your health. You can cook it up and feel good about it.”
Everything in these meals is fresh.
“It’s also, you know, no artificial ingredients or preservatives and it’s freshly prepared vegetables, grains and proteins that are frozen so that you can cook it whenever you want so you don’t have to worry about those fresh vegetables going bad in your fridge,” Lloyd said.
“We see meeting all different kinds of consumers’ needs,” Lloyd stated. “…Working parents are really interested in what we’re doing because it’s easy and it’s healthy and you feel good about it. They feel good about feeding their kids and kids have actually liked these as well, 4 and 5-year-olds. So we see developing family packs, also two serving meals for couples and other meal options like breakfast.”
The cost? $5.99 per meal.
