(WTNH)- Fourteen-year old Casey Nadzam of Hamden, CT is headed to San Francisco, CA on Monday, Oct. 16, 2017 to perform in the prestigious “Broadway Against Bullying Benefit” in support of No Bully. The annual cabaret at Feinstein’s at The Hotel Nikko features numerous performers from the Broadway theater community including stars of Hamilton, Book of Mormon, Kinky Boots and Groundhog Day, as well as Casey and her castmates from New York Musical Festival’s Peace, Love and Cupcakes: The Musical.
Casey spent five weeks this past July and August rehearsing and performing in Peace, Love and Cupcakes, an original musical based on the bestselling children’s book series by Sheryl and Carrie Berk. The show, with music by Broadway’s Rick Hip-Flores and co-written by The Berks and Westport’s Jill Jaysen of Center Stage, received a special NYMF award citation for turning a musical into a socially inclusive movement. Going forward, members of the cast are working with No Bully as “teen ambassadors” to sponsor events that raise funds and awareness.
No Bully is a non-profit organization that ignites student compassion to eradicate bullying and cyberbullying. No Bully has trained 13,000 school teachers and staff in the No Bully System; created bully-free campuses for over 250 schools across the US and internationally; and provided 140,000 students with proven solutions to stop bullying and harassment.
Casey is an aspiring actress, singer, dancer who attends ninth grade at Sacred Heart Academy. She trains locally with Studio Be in North Haven as well as in NYC.
