Human milk deposit opens in Norwich

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH)–Women wanting to donate their breast milk will now have two places to do so in eastern Connecticut.

The ribbon was cut on the human milk deposit at the Catholic Charities in Norwich which also has a location for drop offs at their offices in New London.

The milk helps premature babies whose mothers may not be able to produce enough milk to keep them healthy.

“I feel very proud and also very blessed to do it because a lot of people aren’t able to even do their own,” said Jamie McCann of Norwich, who donated. “Just to be able to provide is something I”m very very happy to do.”

Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast says before now the closest place for mother’s to donate their milk was in Guilford.
