LITCHFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)– Several animals were seized from a Litchfield home Wednesday after complaints of animal neglect.

State Police say on Monday, troopers assisted Torrington Animal Control in responding to 365 Beach Street after they received an anonymous complaint of animal neglect at that home.

Upon arrival, two dogs and a cat were found to be in poor health and were surrendered to the animal control officer.

When police returned on Wednesday with a search warrant, 16 live rabbits, four live adult cats, three live kittens, two dead kittens and five live chickens were seized from the home.

It’s unclear if any arrests are expected. The incident remains under investigation.
