State Police investigate armed robbery in Westbrook Denny’s parking lot

WESTBROOK, Conn. (WTNH)– Connecticut State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the Denny’s parking lot in Westbrook on Friday morning.

At 11:30 a.m., troopers responded to the armed robbery that happened in the Denny’s restaurant parking lot at 28 Flat Rock Plains. The suspects in the armed robbery were described as black males.

Police and Police K9s searched the area of the I-95 southbound rest area in Madison. A short time later, Madison emergency officials say the armed robbery suspect from earlier had been captured. His name is Shadrach Ferguson.

It is unclear if police are looking for another suspect.

During the search, students at nearby Daniel Hand High School in Madison were kept inside the building.

The incident remains under investigation.
