Meriden police investigate Sunday shooting

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Police are investigating after a man was shot in Meriden early Sunday morning.

Police say just before 1:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots on Springdale Avenue. Shortly after, officers were notified that a gunshot victim had arrived in the emergency room of MidState Medical Center.

The victim was transferred to Hartford Hospital for treatment of his injuries. His identity and current condition were not given.

Police say shell casings and other evidence has been processed by detectives, who are working to identify the shooter and a motive. Police do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time.
