Survey: Consumers to spend billions on Halloween

(WTNH)– Halloween is a lot of fun, but it is also big business.

Retailers are set to scare up a record $9.1 billion dollars in sales this year. That’s according to a survey released by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights and Analytics.

More specifically, consumers are expected to spend $3.4 billion on costumes, $2.7 billion on candy, and $2.7 billion on decorations.

Americans are set to shell out an average of just over $86 each.
