Assa Abloy acquires smart lock maker August Home

(WTNH) — Assa Abloy, the home security company which has a facility in New Haven, has purchased smart lock maker ‘August Home.’ No details on the terms of the agreement were announced.

‘August Home’ is based in San Francisco. The company has created smart door locks and video doorbells. Assa Abloy is headquartered in Sweden, and is the parent company of Yale locks.

“August Home strengthens our residential smart door strategy with complementary smart locks, expansion into video doorbells and comprehensive solutions for home delivery,” executive vice president Thanasis Molokotos said in a statement.
