New regulations set on spiny dogfish fishing

(WTNH) — There are new regulations being set on spiny dogfish fishing.

In 2018, The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission will allow fishermen to fish 38 million pounds of spiny dogfish.

That number is about 900,000 pounds less than the quota for this year.

Spiny dogfish are used mainly as food, but they are most commonly eaten in Europe.
