Route 6 reopens in Farmington after crash with multiple injuries

FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– Route 6  has reopened in Farmington after it was closed by a serious crash on Thursday morning.

Police say that Route 6 was closed between Fienemann Road and Scott Swamp Road due to a serious accident that happened just before 7 a.m. on Route 6 west of Waterside Drive.  An initial investigation revealed that there were three cars involved in the crash.

One person was seriously injured and taken to the hospital via ambulance. Four others suffered minor injuries and also taken to the hospital.

Route 6 was closed for several hours while police investigated the accident. A detour was in place but the road has since reopened.

There is no word on what caused the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact police at  860-675-2400.
