See it or Skip it? “Boo 2: A Madea Halloween,” “Geostorm” and “Only the Brave”

Meghan Yost chats with Jackson Murphy about the the movies coming out the weekend of October 20, 2017.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Film critic Jackson Murphy, nicknamed “Lights Camera Jackson” gives his review of “Boo 2: A Madea Halloween,” “Geostorm,” and “Only the Brave.”

“Boo 2” is a follow up to last year’s Tyler Perry Flick. This time Madea and her friends venture to a haunted campground where they have to battle monsters and ghosts.

“This is the 8th live action film starring Madea which is just incredible,” Murphy said. “Tyler Perry is one of the hardest working men in Hollywood.”

The end of the world flick “Geostorm” stars Gerard Butler.

“There’s these satellites that were put into space, put into orbit used to prevent natural disasters,” Murphy explained of the plot line.

But when they start malfunctioning, the planet is threatened.

Lastly, is “Only the Brave,” starring Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin, Miles Teller and Jennifer Connelly.

“It’s a good cast,” Murphy commented … but … “The story really drags throughout much of this film. It is the final 15 minutes that’s why this film was made and it’s raw, and it’s emotional, and it’s moving and i wish that those themes were present throughout the entire film.”
