(WTNH)–Three Connecticut cities made National Geographic’s list of the happiest places in the United States.

National Geographic lists the area of Bridgeport, Stamford, and Norwalk as No. 8 on its list.

Researchers interviewed nearly 250,000 people to compile the list. They asked 16 questions related to physical, social, community and financial well being, and took into account things like civic engagement, walkability and healthful food options.

According to the list, the happiest city in the country is Boulder, Colorado. Santa Cruz-Watsonville, California came in second.
