Students take part in “Great Debate” in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)– A big competition was held at the Harbor Yard Arena in Bridgeport on Friday morning.

It was not basketball or soccer at the Harbor Yard Arena, but instead a meeting of great young minds.

The debate teams from Harvard University and Howard University square offed in “The Great Debate.”

The event was sponsored by the NAACP and News 8 anchor Keith Kountz was moderating the debate.

Roughly 8,000 local students were also there to take part in it all.
