Capitol Report: Dan Drew’s top aide leaves campaign

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — It’s tough to be in Middletown Mayor Dan Drew’s shoes these days.

Mayor Drew is running for governor, and now, the State Elections Enforcement Commission is investigating his outreach to city employees soliciting campaign donations.

On top of that, his top aide jumped ship last week.

Also, New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart is coming under fire from her mayoral opponent, Merrill Gay, for not being clear about whether she’s planning a run for governor in 2018.
