Capitol Report: Fundraising numbers released for state congressional incumbents

(WTNH) — The third quarter fundraising numbers are in for the state’s congressional incumbents and their challengers.

If this were a heavyweight fight, it would be stopped about a year out from November 2018.

Rep. Elizabeth Esty raised $916,000 this year. Her challenger, Crag Diangelo, raised about $7,500.

Rep. Joe Courtney raised $412,000, while challenger Alton “Clay” Slawson III has not raised any money.

Rep. Rosa Delauro is near the $420,000 mark, has no GOP opponent. A Democratic challenger, Bryan Anderson, has not reported any fundraising.

Rep. John Larson has raised $482,000 and has no challenger.

Finally, Rep. Jim Himes brought in $542,000 and has no opponent.

Senator Chris Murphy is the fundraising leader in the clubhouse with more than $6 million on hand. His opponent, Branford businessman Dominic Rapini, has raised just over $51,000.
