Crews respond to morning structure fire in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Fire crews battled a structure fire on 244 Howard Avenue in New Haven on Sunday morning.

The New Haven Fire Chief reported that the fire broke out in a vacant wood frame building. Flames were in the building’s basement, attic, and rear stairwell.

The fire was eventually extinguished as crews remain on scene investigating the incident.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

No injures have been reported as a result of this blaze.
