East Haven Police officer fired after officials say she violated 4 department policies

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A meeting held on Oct. 16 resulted in the firing of an East Haven Police officer.

According to East Haven Police, Detective Monique Colbert’s employment was terminated after a unanimous vote was conducted by the East Haven Board of Police Commissioners.

The department says she was involved in an “off duty personal matter” and would not comment further.

The meeting minutes allege that four department polices were found to have been violated and that a fellow police officer was assaulted.

The board voted three in favor with none opposed for Colbert’s employment termination. One abstained from voting.
