Family displaced after fire damages Norwalk home

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — A family of three was displaced after a fire damaged a two-family home in Norwalk Sunday night.

Fire officials responded to a house fire on Nash Place, when they arrived heavy fire was showing from the front door and rear windows on the first floor.

Officials say the fire started in the kitchen area and spread to the entire first floor of the two story two-family home.

According to authorities, the first floor is gutted and the second floor sustained heat and smoke damage. They say there were no injuries and the fire was under control in thirty minutes.

Fire officials say one side of the home was posted unfit for occupancy and a family of three was displaced. They say Red Cross provided the family shelter for the night.
