Lanes reopen in downtown Hartford following gas leak

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A gas leak in Hartford temporarily closed two lanes on Monday.

According to officials, Connecticut Natural Gas closed two lanes on Central Row which have since reopened.

The closures took place between Prospect Street and Main Street.

CNG released a statement on the leak, saying,

This morning, CNG received a report of a natural gas odor on Main Street near Central Row in Hartford.

CNG personnel responded and confirmed the presence of natural gas. CNG worked with Hartford police to restrict traffic and secure the scene. As of 4 p.m., the roadway was partially re-opened. Two lanes of traffic are expected to be maintained while repairs continue into Monday evening.”

There has been no word on what caused that leak.
