Police: Enfield man operated stolen vehicle, led police on pursuit

ENFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — An Enfield man is facing charges after police say he was operating a stolen vehicle and led officers on a pursuit.

Officials say they conducted a traffic stop around 1:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon on Interstate 91 Northbound near Exit 45.

Officers say the operator of the vehicle then began a pursuit which led to a traffic accident on the Exit 47E off-ramp. The operator then allegedly ran into a wooded area where he remained for two hours before being apprehended.

Officials arrested 21-year-old Jayson Alston and charged him with Larceny in the Third Degree, Reckless Driving, and other related charges. He is being held on a $50,000 cash or surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
