TSA tightens security screening rules for electronics

(WTNH)–If you are heading to Bradley Airport, be prepared for some new security screening policies. The TSA is now requiring travelers to place all electronics larger than a cell phone into bins for X-ray screening.

TSA says the electronics should be in the bin with nothing on top or below, similar to how laptops are screened.

The change is part of a national roll out of tougher overall security measures, where even food will be more closely screened. TSA wants a clearer look at items that could potentially be used as explosives, or to hide explosives.

Passengers that sign up for TSA Pre Check are exempt from the changes.
