Massachusetts students give lawmakers 21 reasons to raise tobacco age limit

(WTNH)–A group of high school students in Massachusetts are taking part in an anti-tobacco effort. The teens gave lawmakers 21 reasons why they feel the minimum age to buy tobacco products should be 21.

The students say big tobacco companies try to target teens to make them customers for life, and that raising the age limit may prevent some from getting hooked.

Lawmakers have previously taken up the idea of raising the age limit, but had not passed a bill.

The state’s public health committee is reviewing the bill.
