Police: Wilton soccer player’s parent arrested for fighting opposing coach

WILTON, Conn. (WTNH) — The parent of a Wilton High School girls soccer player was arrested after police say he fought with the coach of an opposing team.

Police arrested 47-year-old Sherman Eagan on Wednesday at his home.

Police say Eagan’s daughter and a player from Fairfield Ludlowe High School got into a fight during a game on Wednesday. They say Fairfield Ludlowe’s coach had to break up the two.

Officials say after the game, Eagan confronted Ludlowe’s coach, accusing him of assaulting his daughter.

A witness tells police Eagan choked the coach and hit him in the chest.
