Rep. DeLauro introduces bill strengthening workplace harassment laws

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro is introducing a bill to strengthen workplace harassment laws.

The Fair Employment Protection Act would restore protections for people harassed by supervisors and others with authority over day to day work.

Rep. DeLauro says a 2013 Supreme Court ruling weakened protections in its definition of supervisor as someone who can hire and fire.

Two similar bills to restore the protections have been introduced in the past.
