Storm Team 8’s Joe Furey Visits Belltown Hill Orchards in Glastonbury

GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — It’s the season for apple and pumpkin picking, or so we’d like to think, but the unseasonable warm temperatures have challenged the cool, crisp air that is normally expected from a visit to the orchards.

Storm Team 8 Co-Chief Meteorologist Joe Furey took our Executive Auto Group Mobile Weather Lab out for a spin to Belltown Hill Orchards in Glastonbury to view the apple picking conditions – which is producing large and juicy fruit this year – and to take a bite out of some delicious locally-made goodies.

The pick-your-own orchard grows many varieties of apples, pumpkins, sweet cherries and blueberries, making it a fun family event!

Joe speaks to one of the owners, Donald Preli Jr., on this year’s apple harvest as well as shows off the farm market:
