BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)– Five men were arrested in Milford for an alleged armed robbery that happened in Bridgeport, early Monday morning.

Police say just before 1 a.m., officers responded to 192 Bunnell Street for a reported robbery. Upon meeting with the victims, it was learned that 4-5 men entered the rear yard of the home, waiving guns and demanding money. The victims were then searched for money and cellphones, which were all taken at gunpoint, along with a vehicle. The suspects were reported to have stolen a grey 2005 Honda Civic with a CT Reg AH52058.

Police say they then conducted a ping on one of the phones that was taken, which brought them to a location in Milford. Milford Police were notified and were able to locate the stolen vehicle, along with two of the suspects.

Officers also discovered that one of the men had rented a room at the Motel 6, where police were then able to find and arrest three more suspects.

Police say during the search of that motel room, they found 3 firearms, narcotics and several ski masks, as well as wallets, cell phones and vehicle keys that belonged to the robbery victims.

Police arrested David Elliston, Ronaldo Beckett, Akeem Mitchell, Overton Rowe and Christoper Campbell on robbery charges.

Police say Beckett confessed to being in possession of the Colt firearm that was seized at the motel and Rowe confessed to being in possession of the Ruger .38 and Berretta.

Additionally, police say a follow-up investigation was conducted at 1830 Park Avenue, where the men said they lived. A search of that property resulted in several shell casings, for the firearms which were found at the motel, being recovered. Police also found several cell phones and clothing that matched descriptions of other robberies in the area. Police are now working to tie the suspects to those robberies that have occurred over the last few weeks.

The robberies remains under investigation.
