Democrat Nancy Rossi wins three-way mayoral race in West Haven

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)–Democrat Nancy Rossi has won a three-way mayoral race in West Haven.

Rossi beat out incumbent Edward O’Brien, who she upset to win the Democratic nomination in the primary in September.

O’Brien ran as a write-in candidate on Tuesday. He picked up 3,265 votes. Rossi won with 4,825 votes, or 45.3% of the total vote.

Republican David Riccio garnered 2,563 votes, or 24 percent.

O’Brien showed up to Rossi’s campaign headquarters to congratulate her on her victory. This will be Rossi’s first term as mayor.
