Fire breaks out in Milford home

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)–Milford firefighters responded to a fire that broke out in a home on New Haven Avenue around 7:22 p.m.

Fire officials say the flames were venting out of a second-floor window, extending into the apartment above.

Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control quickly, and the fire is now out. An occupant of the unit that burned managed to escape safely prior to firefighters arrival.

An investigation was conducted by the Milford Fire Marshal’s Division, and a cause has not been released at press time.
