Hamden mayor Curt B. Lang wins re-election

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)–Democrat Curt Balzano Lang has won re-election in Hamden, defeating Republican Salman Hamid by a wide margin on Tuesday night.

Leng picked up 7,777 votes (74.3%), easily defeating Hamid (2,667, 25.6%).

The Democrat won his first term in November 2015, after finishing out Mayor Scott Jackson’s term, who left for a position with the state in May.

Hamid’s family immigrated to the United States from Pakistan in 1998, when he was three years old.

Leng has been praised by Hamden residents for improving roads and buildings in the town.
