Officials arrest man for Hartford double murder

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police have arrested a man believed to have killed two men and injured two others back in September.

According to police, on Sept. 23, four people suffered gunshot wounds in the area of 1164 Albany Avenue after gunfire was exchanged. One victim, Joshua Taylor, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second, Jovan Wooten, died six days later at an area hospital.

A lengthy investigation led police to arrest 40-year-old Latroy Johnson of Windsor on Monday for the shooting. Police say a verbal altercation escalated and resulted in Wooten and Johnson exchanging gunfire.

Johnson is a convicted felon with 23 previous arrests and was out on probation. He is facing multiple charges, including two counts of Murder, Assault in the First Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
