Air Force seeks to develop laser weapon systems

(WTNH) — It sounds like something from a sci-fi movie.

However, the United States Air Force really is working with Lockheed Martin to develop high-energy laser weapon systems for its fighter jets.

The Air Force apparently wants to one day use the lasers for self-defense.

The weapons system will supposedly protect forces from missiles and drones.
