PD: Arrest made after marijuana plants, narcotics found in East Hampton home

EAST HAMPTON, Conn. (WTNH)– An East Hampton man was arrested for allegedly operating a drug factory after police found marijuana plants and narcotics in his home on Tuesday.

Police say at around 5 p.m., officers were executing a search and seizure warrant at 8 Lake View Street when they found about 40 potted marijuana plants at various stages of maturity. More than one pound of processed marijuana, smaller amounts of narcotics and other controlled substances were also discovered in the home.

Police say equipment used to cultivate marijuana, such as watering systems, grow lamps, growing tents and plant drying equipment were additionally seized as evidence.

Michael Philhower, 28, was arrested and charged with sale of illegal drug, operating a drug factory, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to sell, and possession of a controlled substance. He was held on a $10,000 bond.

The incident remains under investigation.
