Crews battle flames in Portland

PORTLAND, Conn. (WTNH) — Portland fire crews responded to a structure fire in the area of Jobs Gate and Murphy Road on Thursday morning.

The Fire Chief tells News 8 that the unoccupied house was fully engulfed with flames when crews got to the scene. He added that firefighters had issues with water supply in that area.

Middletown Fire crews also responded and a fire tanker task force was requested to the scene.

There are no injuries reported.

The Fire Chief says the home is a complete loss. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
