The incident happened late Monday night on Route 9 and was caught on camera.
State Police released the video to help make the public more aware of what they should do if they see a deer on or near the road.

Officials say do not slam on the brakes or swerve and instead to slow down as quickly and as safely as possible. Authorities also say to turn on your hazards and to do your best to avoid the deer.
If you do get hit, call 911 and do not approach the injured deer as it can injure you.
