Capitol Report: Connecticut’s community colleges plan to consolidate

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Board of Regents for Higher Education voted overwhelmingly on Thursday to consolidate Connecticut’s 12 community college schools into one college administered from Hartford.

With the state still feeling budget woes, belt-tightening is happening everywhere.

Friend of the show and former State Comptroller Bill Curry called this proposal to consolidate community colleges “deeply flawed,” and called for the board to stop it.

News 8’s Chief Capitol Correspondent Mark Davis dropped by the show to discuss this issue.
