Capitol Report: Herbst calls out opponents following first debate

(WTNH) — Last week, Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim Herbst called out fellow Republicans who bailed on the Dec. 6 debate.

Those who did not participate include Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti, Greenwich hedge-fund manager David Stemerman and former executive Bob Stefanowski.

Mayor Herbst says he wants everyone to go through the same “meat grinder” like he has.

On the other side of the aisle, Democrat and Middletown Mayor Dan Drew rented out a movie theater last Friday for a Star Wars-themed fundraiser. There were four tiers of ticket prices, with “Jedi” tickets selling for $100 each.
