State Trooper injured in collision on Merritt Parkway in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A Connecticut State Trooper was involved in a collision on the Merritt Parkway on Sunday afternoon.

Officials say the incident happened in the northbound direction of Route 15 between Exits 61 and 62. Authorities say a State Trooper was involved and that two ambulances have been dispatched to the scene.

The injuries are believed to be minor.

It is not known how many vehicles were involved in the collision.

The cause of the crash is not known at this time.

The highway was closed on the northbound side for nearly two hours before reopening.
